So Fanime is finally over — after 4 grueling days, I must say that this was one of the hardest fanime events I’ve ever been to. Volunteering as a photographer is no joke. I missed the swimsuit competition and the masquerade due to extreme exhaustion.
My legs had such a workout and the pads of my foot are worse for wear… I’m completely aching and I can barely move — limping all over the place as I travel from room to room. Luckily, my drive home is 15 mins from the San Jose Convention center and it was quick.
I ended up missing the single main event that I was going to fanime for, but all in all — it was still worth it. I was able to meet up with some AWESOME people, and I was also able to get advice on watching some new anime. And in that, I found an awesome single track from RWBY — OMFG this anime (created by rooster teeth) is a cell shaded animation that really is high quality. I read that it looks as though either the creator or the producer died recently (3 months ago) and could not see his creation come to completion. That was one piece of saddening news, I would have loved a chance to interview him and photograph him for my blog.
I would have never come to see this piece if it wasn’t for a friend and his GF’s cosplay and their friend. Took their advice, and watched the mind blowing episode 1 — then gone up to watch episode 4 in 1 night (10+mins per episode — you can binge watch quickly). BUT what really got to me was that I suddenly had an urge to pick up the OST for this anime. Couple of links below to listen and watch for the animation!
If this was 2 years ago — I would have never even gave this a chance, but I must say — Wow, not only am I impressed but the main characters are KAWAII!!!!!
